Hi, my name’s Richard Frost.

I’m a writer, editor and media consultant living in Manchester, with lots of experience in journalism, copywriting, SEO copywriting, proofreading, copy editing, PR and social media marketing.

Although I’m happy to turn my hand to pretty much anything, I’m particularly interested in the following:

  • Business (hospitality, property, finance and technology)
  • Lifestyle (food, drink, travel and culture)
  • Sport (football, tennis, badminton and cycling)

The blog

I don’t want this website to be just about work though, which is why I’ve also included a blog.

It’s a personal blog where I write about a whole range of topics. I’m based in the suburb of Chorlton so that inevitably gets plenty of coverage, but I also run stories from across Manchester and the rest of the UK – specifically ones related to my interests and passions.

So why should you believe anything I say? Well, I’ve got the following professional experience under my belt:

  • Assistant content producer at the BBC
    (March 2022 – Present)
  • Editor-in-chief of hospitality news website TOPHOTELNEWS
    (May 2020 – March 2022)
  • Online editor of hospitality magazine publisher Sleeper Media
    (February 2018 – May 2020)
  • Senior digital staff writer at business magazine publisher Insider Media
    (February 2015 – February 2018)
  • Account manager at PR consultancy PR Agency One
    (July 2014 – February 2015)
  • Digital staff writer at business magazine publisher Insider Media
    (March 2013 – July 2014)
  • Managing editor and press officer of SEO agency theEword
    (July 2009 – August 2012)
  • Press & publicity officer of community group Green Chorlton
    (January 2010 – December 2011)
  • DirectNews correspondent at news agency Adfero
    (June 2006 – August 2007)

I’ve also got the following qualifications in the bag:

  • NCTJ in Print Journalism at Liverpool Community College
    (September 2007 – June 2008)
  • BA Single (Hons) English Literature at Durham University
    (October 2002 – June 2005)
